In what can only properly be described as a victory for all mankind, Donald Trump’s name has been removed from the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts. A federal district court judge and the U.S. Court of Appeals did not think much of the sycophantic Trump-appointed leadership’s hysterical attempts to show Trump, their liege lord, how far they will prostrate themselves and their integrity to prove their loyalty.
Trump must be very unhappy. Good. The question remains, of course, whether the corrupted Supreme Court will once again drop to its metaphorical knees and give Trump what he wants.
I can say this, though. Since returning from New York City in late 2020, a year when Trump’s negligence was responsible for the deaths of more Americans than anyone in history, we have attended multiple performances of ballet, symphonies and plays at the Kennedy Center. Trump’s claims that the Center was an aging physical shambles are simply more Trump self-serving lies to justify what he wanted because … he wanted it. Are there signs of aging on this building, now expanded beyond its original 1971 size? Possibly, but it remains an elegant center of arts performances of the highest order. And putting Trump’s name on the building does nothing whatever to cure any such defects. If Trump really cared a whit about the arts, he would have negotiated with the existing management to develop a realistic plan for reasonable repairs that are necessary in fact.
But, no, that’s not how Trump works.
The Republicans who behave like they think Trump is the genius he claims to be appear to believe they will be in power forever. If history is any guide, and it usually is, they are dead wrong about that. They should be making plans to self-deport to Venezuela or similar when they finally face the reckoning that is their just reward for their treasonous self-serving mismanagement and corruption under Trump.
One thing is certain, based on our experience in New York City when Trump was defeated by Joe Biden, there will be rejoicing throughout the land and indeed most of the world, when Trump is removed from the White House. See https://shiningseausa.com/2020/11/07/joy-in-the-land/ for photos and more.
Recall the anthem from Les Miserables:
Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the song of angry men?
It is the music of the people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!
Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?
Then join in the fight
That will give you the right to be free!
Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the song of angry men?
It is the music of the people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes! ….
